I started to wonder how, in all good conscience, could I continue prattling on about how to build for the Web when we increasingly don't even know what the Web is anymore. The conversation needs to move up a level.
And so I decided to "fork" The Spicy Web and create a new project. I had already started up a property called That HTML Blog to serve as a link aggregator and source of news on WebDev topics, so I moved all my relevant dev-focused efforts there and embarked on something new. Instead of merely lamenting that the Web I once knew and loved had devolved into the Torment Nexus, I decided to DO something about it!
Thus the Human Web Collective was born. Welcome to the Resistance!

Drawn from 200+ viral “Janet from Accounts” skits and 8.9 million views, it distils years of hard-won experience into real, usable frameworks for the people who hold everything together while everyone else talks about transformation.

Gemini is a new internet technology supporting an electronic library of interconnected text documents. That's not a new idea, but it's not old fashioned either. It's timeless, and deserves tools which treat it as a first class concept, not a vestigial corner case. Gemini isn't about innovation or disruption, it's about providing some respite for those who feel the internet has been disrupted enough already. We're not out to change the world or destroy other technologies. We are out to build a lightweight online space where documents are just documents, in the interests of every reader's privacy, attention and bandwidth.
